The Treachery of Compromise: Why Abortion Still Stands and What Men Must Do
When Roe v. Wade fell, many Christians thought the war was over. Headlines screamed victory. Politicians claimed credit. Churches cheered. And yet, babies are still being murdered every single day under the protection of law.
Why? Because compromise has rotted the foundation of the so-called “pro-life movement.”
In my recent conversation with Ben Zeisloft, author of Forsakers of the Fatherless, we pulled back the curtain on what many don’t want to admit: pro-life organizations have too often betrayed the very children they claim to protect.
Instead of demanding equal justice under the law for preborn children, they push watered-down bills, carve out loopholes, and tell Christians to settle for “safe, legal, and rare.” They fight harder to protect their political capital than to protect the unborn. That is treachery.
The Danger of Feminized Compassion
One of the root problems is a kind of feminized compassion that has infected the church and the pro-life lobby. It says, “We must protect women from prosecution, no matter what.” But this denies reality. Women are moral agents. Many walk into abortion mills with full knowledge of what they are doing. Scripture does not allow us to call evil good or to excuse murder because it feels compassionate.
True compassion does not deny justice. It upholds it. A just law is God’s mercy, both to the victim and even to the guilty, who are confronted with their sin and pointed to Christ.
Fathers, the Fight Is Yours
At the heart of the abortion crisis is fatherlessness. Abortion thrives where men are passive. The overwhelming majority of abortions happen because men refused to lead, refused to protect the mother, refused to protect the child.
The call, then, is obvious: Men, stop being passive. Take responsibility. Protect your family. Protect the fatherless. Abortion will not end until men repent of cowardice and rise up with courage.
What Faithfulness Looks Like
Faithfulness in this fight will not come through slick campaigns, clever slogans, or compromise bills. It will come when Christians stand flat-footed on the Word of God and say:
Abortion is murder.
The unborn are our neighbors.
God demands justice.
This means supporting laws that grant equal protection from conception. This means pastors must preach clearly against abortion and disciple men to take responsibility. This means churches must not outsource the fight to “pro-life experts” but must lead with courage.
A Word of Hope
The battle is fierce. Betrayal is real. But Christ is King. He is the Father to the fatherless and the defender of the weak. His justice cannot be mocked, and His mercy is real for every repentant sinner, including those who have participated in abortion.
Brothers, do not grow weary. Stand firm. Lead your families. Confront compromise. Fight for the fatherless.
Because one day your sons will ask you, “What did you do when babies were being murdered in our land?”
May your answer be: “I built, I fought, I protected, I led for the glory of Christ and the good of His Kingdom.”
Build. Fight. Protect. Lead. This is The Patriarchy.
